Web Design Tokyo

Web design tokyo is probably the wrong thing to call this page, because I'm not a graphic designer. Im a programmer, but nobody searches on web programmer tokyo, so 'web design tokyo' it is.

I'm ussher, and this is my site.

The system

There are 3 ways to get your site built. The $2000 plan, the $3000 plan, or pay by the hour.

*(Server, Maintenance and Retainer fee $50 per month)

The $2000 website

  • A simple site with as many pages as you need
  • Using a full content management system so you can update any pages by yourself
  • Try out a demo website example $2000 website
  • What this site DOESN'T have
    • Payment or shopping cart system
    • Online booking system
    • Complicated interconnectivity
  • So who's this good for?
    • You, if you want a site to display your business information
    • You, if you want people to contact you
    • Your friend, if you want to do them a favor.
What you'll end up with is a good solid site that you can update yourself without needing any HTML skills.

*(Server, Maintenance and Retainer fee $50 per month)

The $3000 website

So whats different from the $2000 website?

  • Building it requires additional programming or setup to be done.
  • Some examples of what 'additional setup' could be a site that needs a:
    • Calendar based tour booking system (try demo example $3000 website).
    • Online Payment facility requiring Security.
    • Shopping Cart System.
  • So who's this good for?
    • You, if you run an outdoor tours business.
    • You, if you want to sell physical products online.
    • You, if you take online bookings.

Pay by the hour

If I built your site on either the $2000 or $3000 plan then minor issues, touchups, software maintenance will all be covered by the monthly service fees.

If you want to hire me for custom programming or work on a site I did not create etc then the hourly plan is as follows

  • Standard Hourly Rate: $35 per hour
  • Rush Job Hourly Rate: $40 per hour
  • Large Project Hourly Rate: $30 per hour *
* A project becomes billable at the 'Large Project' reduced rate once the total project costs exceed $1500 for the scope of work being done.

Additional costs

So are there any additional costs? YES!

The things that will cost extra are the things that I can't supply.

Some of those things could be:

  • SSL certificates.
  • Graphic Logo design.
  • Template Design

SSL Certificates

What is it? answer by wikipedia here
Why would i need one? if you plan to take Credit Card information online you will need one. The way to get around needing one is to let someone like Paypal take care of accepting the money for you. Then you don't need one.

If you do need one then the prices start about $20 per year and this will usually be enough. (There are much more expensive ones too though)

Graphic Logo Design

please re-read the first paragraph "....I'm not a graphic designer. I'm a programmer.....".
This doesn't mean that we are without options though. There are plenty of amazing designers out there on the net. Some for free, some for a small fee, and some for a large fee.

  • Free: I hack something together from resources you already have.
  • Free: GPL, Creative Commons and Public Domain content.
  • Small Fee: Pre-made template content that just needs to be customized. About $20~$50
  • Large Fee: Run a graphic design competition with many designers. Just designate the prize money. Pay the winner. $unlimited

Template Design

A template is what your site will look like. All the colors, fonts and layout are part of the template. As opposed to content, which is all of the information in your site.

Ways to get your template created

  • Free: Show me a design of what the finished product will look like and I turn that image into a working website.
  • Free: We take a pre-made free template and customize it to match your business.
  • Small Fee: Purchase a non-unique template from one of the template sellers and customize it for your business. Between about $60~$100
  • Large Fee: Run a graphic design competition with many designers. Just designate the prize money. Pay the winner. Then I turn the design into a website. $unlimited.

F.A.Q.

Q: How can you get us to show at the top of the internet on google yahoo etc etc?
A: There are ways, but that is different from site building.
What you need to do is have a site that is optimized for specific keywords
The best way being a separate page for each keyword that you think is useful.
Which means one page for "web design tokyo" and another page for "tokyo web developer"
Then you need links coming into those pages, the more the better.
This means buying advertising, swapping links, or doing something that causes other sites to link to yours
The key being the text they use to link to your site.
If someone links to your site with the words "web design tokyo" then that is like one vote for your site on that keyword
It can get crazy and tricky and a LOT of effort is spent understanding this art.

Q: So that means that you don't guarantee #1 spot?
A: If you want to be #1 for a long keyword like "Apicos web design programming and internet development company" i can guarantee #1 spot in google.
but if you want to be #1 for a highly competitive word like "webdesign" its a different story.
there is a constant fight for top placement on competitive keywords
I can build the site so that it is ready for the search engines, but after that it requires offsite work.
which means building incoming links.

Q: Will it end up very expensive to pay per click?
A: pay-per-click is good.
but you absolutely MUST know how much a sale is worth to you to use it.
and install tracking.
so if it costs you $10 in advertising to get a $40 sale then is that within profit margins......
Setting up pay-per-click is another aspect that is not included in the cost of building the site. i can set the tracking up, but not the advertising campaigns.
They require attention and fine tuning.

Q: What is tracking?
A: Tracking is where you know which keyword is responsible for each sale.
say you have 10 keywords that you are paying per click for
and you have 5 sales this week
you need tracking to know that keyword #1 was responsible for 3 sales and keyword #7 is responsible for 2 sales
then you can stop paying for keywords 2,3,4,5,6,8,9 because they are not bringing you sales.
Without tracking you don't know which sales keywords are good.
you just have 500 clicks that produce 5 sales and cost you $50
so that makes the average 10 cents per click.
but if you know which keywords aren't working, then you can cut them and reduce the $50 to $20 for the same amount of sales.

Q: My nextdoor neighbors kid said he can build me a website for $400, your thoughts?
A: Give him a try.
If it doesn't work out, Ill still be here. If it does, then you saved some money.

Next Steps....

The next step is to contact me and talk about what needs to be done. contact
